The state government has extended the secretariat and department heads' offices' five-day-a-week working hours for another year. Dr. Sameer Sharma, the Chief Secretary to the State Government, ordered this on Thursday. The Andhra Pradesh Secretariat Employees' Association has petitioned the government to increase the working week to five days per week. In this context, the orders state that the five-day work week will be extended for a year beginning June 27 this year. The orders state that employees must work from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. during the five-day workweek.
